WELCOME TO THE NEW DMR WEBSITE

 22/11/09   -  3:45am

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the new DMR website. We have been busy over the past month putting this website together. There are several new features including blogs, a new online merchandise store and video downloads which combined with our live streaming and results will make the DMR website the go to place for Top Fuel coverage.

Some areas of the website are still under construction and we hope to have them complete by Christmas. We will have full race coverage of the Perth Top Fuel Round this weekend.

I need to say a big thanks to Darren Shaddock from www.racefan.com.au for his help getting the layout together.

If you have any comments or suggestions for the website then please send an email to dmr1957@hotmail.com.

Thanks

Darren Morgan

TRUCK BLOG - STOPPED AGAIN

 01/12/09   -  12:00pm

We had to stop in Southern Cross because the tyres on the B Trailer of Martin Stamatis's is chewing up tyres again. They are going to fit two more tyres to it. At least we don't have to fit them this time.

Wez, Baz and I are heading off now and Foz and Andrew are going to head shortly once the tyres are finished.

So our ETA has been set back an hour.

We also stopped in Yellowdine for fuel.

Stay tunned.

TRUCK BLOG - ON THE ROAD AGAIN

 01/12/09   -  9:00am

Good Morning

We are on the road again. Only 550km to go...can't wait. It is a really, really, really long way across here. Its the biggest paddock you can go across. We had a good night sleep and are now ready to go.

For breakfast we had triple bacon and egg in a hole sandwiches with leftover chicken which were excellent. Andrew made an excellent batch of coffee which got the morning off to a great start.

We should be in Perth sometime after lunch

Stay tunned

TRUCK BLOG - THE ROCK TAVERN

 01/12/09   -  12:00am

Hello

We are finished again for the day. It has been a very long day, 1200km. We are parked up at 'The Rock' which is 550km from Perth.  We should get to the track around lunch time tomorrow.

We went over and had a yarn to Laurie from the Rock Tavern. Baz and Wez added to their stuby holder collections with a 'Bulla Ute Show and Country Party' stuby holder.

We then went back to the trailers and cooked garlic chicken steaks which Wez got from Warburton's butchers in Mildura. They were excellent. We even had bacon with them.

We are heading to bed now. It will be an early start again tomorrow.

TRUCK BLOG - ON THE MOVE AGAIN

 30/11/09   -  7:00am

Good morning from Nundroo...just another day in paradise

We are on the move again. We ended up having bacon and eggs in a hole with extra bacon and bacon on the side. We had an issue with the popup toaster when the generator shut down but Foz came to the rescue once again.

Tea last night was excellent. Cook Foz decked out with his JRR apron was assisted by Wez and his mushroom sauce.

The showers were excellent this morning and the 4" tec screws worked well as towel hooks. Sorry Phil they aren't quiet in line, Baz messed it up again.

We are aiming to get well into WA today.

Check back later for more updates.

TRUCK BLOG - FINISHED FOR THE DAY

 29/11/09   -  10.00pm

Hi All

We have stopped for the day and setup camp. We are staying at Nundroo which is approximately 2/3 of the way across SA. Today has been a good day, we have covered around 1000km.

We are currently cooking the BBQ. Getting a good feed out here can be difficult but if you do Baz's 5 P's you can be successful. Tonight we are having:
Appetisers: Oysters
Entree: Prawns
Main: Tee Bone steak with chilly mushroom sauce, chips [in a new deep fryer]

We received a large amount of bacon for the trip so we are undecided on what to have for breakfast. It will either be bacon, deep fried bacon, crispy strip bacon, bacon rolls, bacon sandwiches, bacon in a hole or microwave bacon.

We would also like to thank Jim Read for the use of his trailers shower facilities.

We will be up early tomorrow as we hope to get well into WA tomorrow.

Stay tunned

Ben

TRUCK BLOG - UPDATE

 29/11/09   -  3:00pm

Hi Again

Just a quick update on our travels. We have just left Port Agusta after refuelling. We have picked up our oysters and prawns for tea tonight.

We have had rain showers on and off for most of the trip so far. The rigs will need a good wash when we get to Perth.

Check back later for more updates

TRUCK BLOG - LEAVING MILDURA

 29/11/09   -  10:00am

Hi All

Over the next few days we will be giving you regular updates on our progress travelling across the Nulabour to Perth. We have Foz driving Phil Read’s truck, Andrew driving Martin Stamatis’s truck, Wez driving Phil Lamattina’s truck, Baz driving Darren Morgan’s truck and me riding shotgun in the DMR transporter. We are on the road heading through eastern South Australia at the moment.

Foz and Andrew left Sydney Friday night. They stayed at Lamattina’s last night helping Angelo Lamattina celebrate his birthday. The three trucks then departed Lamattina’s this morning and joined the DMR transporter at the border.

We stopped at Yamba, the Victorian/South Australian border for bacon and eggs and coffee this morning. We are now heading through South Australia.

Watch this space for further updates. If you have any questions or comments about our travels then send an email to dmr1957@hotmail.com.
